The Sun Belt Conference and the Science of Sport partner to promote Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) to students and teachers across the Sun Belt’s geographic region. This initiative is part of the Extra Yard for Teachers program through the College Football Playoff Foundation. The goals for this program are to improve teacher effectiveness in teacher STEM by utilizing sport examples and to improve student interest in STEM through hands-on learning. This program includes the following: 

• STEM curriculum for basketball, baseball, and football
• Teacher Workshops and Teacher Kits
• Online portal for teachers 
• Youth Football STEM camp at the New Orleans Bowl Game 
• Youth Baseball STEM camp at the Sun Belt Conference Tournament 
• STEM Field Trips at the Sun Belt Conference Tournament
